A Casual Conversation

     So I just got back from our local dollar store, which I have to say, is the best one I've ever been to. It just recently opened and the moment you walk in your welcomed by a refreshing and cool sense that feels far from any warehouse or Walmart feel. Today was much like any other. I walked around the store a bit, browsing for anything that I MUST get because there always is something. Of course I found that one thing, which happened to be a package of photo paper. It may surprise you but the photo paper at the dollar store is amazing and only costs... you guessed it! A dollar! So with my package of photo paper and two sheets of poster board, I made my way to the cash register. As I was walked up I was greeted by the nicest cashier I have ever met. She smile and asked how I was doing and I in return asked her how she was doing (the usual routine) but this time instead of getting a cold hearted "good" I received a well-meant "Great!" She went on to talk about how she got the next day of and would be off in ten minutes. The conversation continued and we talked about the photo paper and how amazing it is (see it really is great) and how to get a blotch of ink off my finger. Nothing too spectacular happened but everything she said was genuine and I didn't feel like I was putting her out by buying something. It's crazy how much we take genuine happiness in costumer service for granted.

Rain

     Rainy days truly are delightful. The clouds seem to touch the tips of the trees and a haze of serenity covers the whole town. The cars make sounds of rushing water on the road. I close my eyes and I can almost imagine being next to a river, watching the water pass by, as I sit in the warmth of a log cabin. When I open my eyes, however, I'm still watching the cars zoom by. But sitting in this bay window, in the peacefulness of my own home, is even better than a log cabin on the side of any river.
